I used this book when preparing lectures and the material proved useful. It was useful that it is mapped to the PCFs in social work.
Much like all the other books from this range, this is another essential one for reading. The case studies are brilliant, clear links to practice and maps across to the PCF making it really useful to ensure Learning Outcomes are met. A firm favourite in the classroom and on my bookshelf.
This is a good companion text for students studying life course development. Whilst not as comprehensive as Beckett's book, it does however provide better practical insights on social work practice. Chapters are usefully divided over the different life course stages so that learners can focus on what they need rather than having to rely on the index.
